Variety: Spice of the Photoblog?
This would seem like an obvious statement with no need for a question mark, but let me explain.
I tend to be a very orderly person. You can call me fussy if you like, but I like doing things in order. At my old photoblog I settled into posting pictures from events in order. All the parade pictures fit to use, then all the pictures from the museum visit, then all the pictures from the Galveston trip, etc.
When I decided to actually organize my photos in the winter, I realized that with my new labeling system I could actually mix up the photos and still keep track of which ones were posted. I figured that it would give more variety to my postings. I've lived with this for a while and now I'm starting to feel that the vision is disjointed. Not that I had a clearly defined style in the first place, but at least you could see a thread of my life. The events that I went to and photos I posted I think told something about me.
So what to do. For example right now I have enough Rodeo Carnival photos to last me two to three weeks. But would I still have viewers after posting two weeks worth of the same event? Post things in order or mix up things from what I got ... (even if the same event shows up every three days).
And if you say some of one and some of the other, then read again. Fussy. I have to decide on a system and stick with it. So what do you think? How do you do decide what to post? Let's hear it!

I'm in the 'keep things in order' camp.
I like to be able to go back and see my photo trips in chronological order. On the other hand, my blog's format allows multiple photos per entry so I can post all of my favorite rodeo pictures on the same day. I won't get bored with long strings of photos, so if you like order, I say keep them in order.

If you lose visitors over something like that, you dont want them anyway. Do whatever you like best. It is your blog afterall!
Personally I dont usually post too many shots from the same event or day in a row unless I am hurtin for images to post. I save some for days when I dont have anything and post them as archive shots.

I sway more towards Matt's comments, perhaps two or three top photos of the same event in a row and them move on to the next subject. When you lack some inspiration to go and shot fresh stuff then post an older shot or two......It also gives you inspiration looking through the older images to go shot new ones. Agree - Disagree ?

Do what I do. Pay no attention and just post stuff until your homepage is 750 posts long and you get an email from you telling you to knock it off.
I find my half Gentle Viewers get bored when I post 2 images from the same shoot and the other half can't make the topic shift which I post Washington next to Vegas. (There is a Flamingo Hotel in Washington??).
However, I had been paying for Flickr and not knowing what to do with it so I think this year if I have a topic with MANY images, I'll post a few on the blog and then link it to a more complete set at Flickr for people who want to see them which is pretty much me..and...ummm. Well, *I* like having them over there for the organization.
